Assistant Project Manager

Job description
Western Building Group is a Mesa, Arizona-based construction company specializing in ACM and sheet metal roofing and siding. We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager, experienced in the construction industry, to assist our Project Managers run some amazing projects. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Works under the direct supervision of the Project Manager to facilitate a successful project, start to finish.
Participates in turnover meetings.
Responsible for project submittals and reviews all project shop drawings.
Performs material takeoffs, gathers vendors/supplier quotes, reviews procurement with Project Manager, and submits PO’s.
Submits and tracks RFI’s and ASI’s.
Produces initial bend order and tracks subsequent bend orders submitted from field personnel.
Responsible for field verification using scanning equipment and/or other methods as necessary.
Processes scan data, produces point cloud, and is involved in fabrication design processes with both the detailing and fabrication departments.
Assists in billing processes by tracking material deliveries and takes photos of stored materials.
Upon project closeout, arranges all closeout documentation, including warranties and archiving project documents.
Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, specs, drawings, submittals, orders, etc.
Must be familiar with sheet metal, roofing, and ACM- material, installation, fabrication, etc.
Highly dependable and committed to a full-time, 40-hour/week, in-person schedule, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Available outside of regular office hours to direct work or support crews as needed.
Must have basic familiarity with Excel and other Office software. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Onscreen. Provides backup to draft shop drawings.
Capable of calculating figures, amounts, percentages, circumference, area, and other basic geometry and algebra skills.
Ability to develop a tracking system for project requirements and have a have a general ability to read and interpret documentation requirements.
Recognizes liability and safety exposures and supports established policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent goals.

Competent to effectively present information to management, general contractors, and public groups

Lifting up to 110 lbs
Talking, standing, walking, climbing
Required to work in loud, high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, working near moving parts and heavy machinery and around fumes
Distance, depth, and color perception is necessary

Salary: $19.00 – $33.00 per hour
