Projects - Desert Sky Transit Center

Desert Sky Transit Center

Project Description

The Desert Sky Transit Center utilizes a European rain screen at the 5,800 square foot perimeter façade. The OKO Skin system is a cementitious plank impervious to moisture, insects, and the Arizona sun providing excellent protection of the canopy. Western Building Group installed the complete weather barrier system, sub-framing and the OKO Skin panel system along with custom color matched copings and trims. The variation of color is achieved with differing levels of sandblasted surface then applied randomly in a staggered pattern. Desert Sky is a key transit point for the City of Phoenix public transportation system. Haydon Building Corp was the general contractor.
